INTRODUCTION

This course is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of GIS mapping, spatial data visualization, and analysis, using two popular software applications: QGIS and Power BI.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are used for managing and analyzing geographic information. GIS enables users to create, display, and analyze spatial data, and derive insights from them. GIS is used in a wide range of applications such as urban planning, natural resources management, environmental assessment, and disaster management.

QGIS is a free and open-source GIS software, widely used for spatial data management and analysis. Power BI, on the other hand, is a popular business intelligence tool provided by Microsoft, used for data visualization, analysis, and reporting.

In this course, you will learn the fundamental concepts of GIS and how to apply them to spatial data management, analysis, and visualization. You will learn how to use QGIS for spatial data management and analysis, including mapping, cartography, and spatial queries. You will also learn how to use Power BI for data visualization, reporting, and analysis, including spatial data visualization and mapping.

By the end of this course, you will have the skills and knowledge to manage, analyze, and visualize spatial data using QGIS and Power BI, and apply them to real-world applications. We hope that you find this course valuable and engaging, and we look forward to your participation.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive Certificate of Participation. Please note that we extend post-training support for up to 6 months after training.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, participants will;

1.    Understand the basic concepts of GIS mapping, visualization, and spatial analysis.

2.    Learn how to use QGIS software for spatial data management, analysis, and visualization.

3.    Learn how to import and convert different types of spatial data into QGIS software.

4.    Learn how to apply different spatial analysis techniques using QGIS software.

5.    Learn how to create attractive and informative maps using QGIS software.

6.    Learn how to apply advanced mapping techniques such as web mapping, animated and interactive maps using QGIS software.

7.    Learn how to use Power BI for data visualization, analysis, and reporting.

8.    Learn how to connect to different data sources using Power BI.

DURATION

10 days

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This training course is designed for professionals who are interested in working with spatial data and want to develop their skills in GIS mapping, visualization, and spatial analysis. Some of the potential participants who would benefit from this course include:

1.    GIS professionals and practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of GIS mapping and spatial analysis using QGIS and Power BI.

2.    Data analysts who want to integrate spatial data into their analysis and reporting.

3.    Environmental scientists, geologists, urban planners, and other professionals who work with spatial data.

4.    Students and researchers who want to learn GIS mapping, visualization, and spatial analysis techniques using QGIS and Power BI.

5.    Anyone interested in developing their skills in GIS mapping, spatial analysis, and data visualization.

Participants are not required to have any prior experience with QGIS or Power BI software, but some basic knowledge of data management and visualization will be helpful. The course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and techniques of GIS mapping, visualization, and spatial analysis using QGIS and Power BI.
