This course is intended for NGO staff, counselors, trauma support personnel, emergency responders, medical practitioners, and new entry personnel in the field of risk management and security.

·      Four Waves of Trauma Assistance

·      Important Concepts of Working with Survivors

·      Effective Treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorders

·      Traumatology Intervention Roles

·      Typical Effects of Post Trauma Relationships

Topic 4: Trauma Recovery Services:

·      Major Concepts to Understand

·      Meaning of resilient and its implication for persons with trauma

·      Working with families and cares of young children with trauma

·      The support services and referral pathways available

Topic 5:  Trauma Intervention Methods:

·      Interventions to prevent traumatic stress

·      Prevention verses Treatment

·      Screening- Who needs intervention

·      Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

Topic 6: The Trauma Recovery Model

·      Characteristics of the Trauma-Recovery Session

·      Benefits of Trauma Recovery Sessions or Debriefing

    Activity: Think of a session where you will help a trauma victim deal with his/her pressing issue. Define that session to the class and invite them to provide you with insights

GENERAL NOTES

Ø The instructor led trainings are delivered using a blended learning approach and comprises of presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web-based tutorials and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professional and trainers in these fields.

Ø The participants should be reasonably proficient in English as all facilitation and course materials will be offered in English.

Ø Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be issued with a certificate.

Ø The training will be held at Kincaid Training Centre. The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments and lunch.

Ø All participants will additionally cater for their, travel expenses, visa application, insurance, and other personal expenses.
