Climate change is reshaping global financial systems, presenting both systemic risks and strategic opportunities for central banks and financial regulators. As the world transitions toward low-carbon, sustainable economies, central banks play a pivotal role in ensuring financial stability while guiding the financial sector toward environmental, social, and governance (ESG) alignment and green finance integration.
This course by Kincaid Development Center equips participants with advanced knowledge and practical tools to address the growing influence of climate risks on monetary policy, supervision, and financial stability. It provides a deep understanding of how climate change impacts balance sheets, asset valuations, credit risk, and market behavior — and how central banks can lead sustainable transformation through policy innovation, green finance mechanisms, and ESG frameworks.
The training emphasizes climate risk assessment, climate-related stress testing, green taxonomy implementation, and sustainable finance strategies relevant to the African context. Participants will also explore how central banks can integrate climate adaptation, resilience financing, and ESG principles into prudential regulation, lending frameworks, and investment decision-making.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive Certificate of Participation.
