Comprehensive Training Course on Trauma Support and Counseling

In an increasingly complex world, trauma affects individuals across all ages, professions, and backgrounds. Whether resulting from violence, natural disasters, loss, or ongoing personal struggles, the emotional and psychological impact of trauma can be profound and long-lasting.

This Training Course on Trauma Support and Counseling is designed to equip mental health practitioners, social workers, educators, healthcare providers, humanitarian workers, and others with the knowledge, practical tools, and therapeutic techniques to provide effective support to trauma survivors. Trauma support and counseling course will give the trainees relevant knowledge, skills and values to identify clients exposed to traumatic events and provide trauma support services in the immediate aftermath of traumatic events. The participants of this training will be imparted with the concepts of First Aid, the principles of trauma recovery sessions, and effective treatments for people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Participants will explore the nature of trauma, its psychological effects, trauma-informed approaches, counseling skills, crisis intervention strategies, and evidence-based therapeutic models to facilitate healing and resilience.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive Certificate of Participation.

OBJECTIVES

This course is intended for individual working in a humanitarian crisis environment especially NGO staff, counselors, trauma support personnel, emergency responders, medical practitioners, and new entry personnel in the field of risk management and security.

GENERAL NOTES

  • The instructor led trainings are delivered using a blended learning approach and comprises of presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web-based tutorials and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professional and trainers in these fields.
  • The participants should be reasonably proficient in English as all facilitation and course materials will be offered in English.
  • Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be issued with a certificate.
  • The training will be held at Kincaid Training Centre. The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments and lunch.
