Training Course on Agroforestry and Renewable Energy Integration (Biomass, Biogas, Solar)

As global demand for sustainable energy and food security rises, integrating agroforestry systems with renewable energy technologies presents a powerful solution. Agroforestry not only improves soil fertility, biodiversity, and climate resilience but also offers opportunities to produce sustainable energy through biomass, biogas, and solar innovations.

This training explores how renewable energy solutions can be embedded into agroforestry systems to enhance rural livelihoods, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and support climate change mitigation. Participants will learn how to design, implement, and manage integrated systems that generate both agricultural products and clean energy, creating sustainable business opportunities while protecting ecosystems.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive Certificate of Participation.

Course Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the principles and benefits of integrating agroforestry with renewable energy.
  2. Identify opportunities for biomass production and utilization in farm systems.
  3. Apply biogas technology for waste-to-energy conversion.
  4. Explore solar energy applications in agroforestry enterprises.
  5. Enhance climate resilience through integrated resource management.
  6. Evaluate economic, environmental, and social benefits of integration.
  7. Develop business models and financing mechanisms for agroforestry-energy systems.
  8. Design policies and frameworks that promote renewable energy adoption in farming landscapes.
  9. Monitor and assess the sustainability of integrated systems.
