Introduction
As the world intensifies efforts to combat climate change, carbon finance has emerged as a vital tool to mobilise investments for low-carbon, climate-resilient development. By creating economic value for greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions, carbon finance channels funding towards renewable energy, energy efficiency, reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and other climate-friendly projects.
This course by Kincaid Development Center provides participants with the knowledge and skills to navigate carbon markets, access climate finance, and implement projects that generate tradable carbon credits. It covers compliance markets (such as the EU ETS), voluntary carbon markets, carbon pricing mechanisms, and the role of international climate agreements like the Paris Accord. Participants will gain practical experience in developing and financing carbon projects while ensuring environmental integrity and social benefits.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Participation.
