Understanding the patterns, causes, and effects of health and disease conditions in populations is at the core of public health practice. Epidemiology and biostatistics are essential tools for health researchers, analysts, and policymakers, providing the foundation for evidence-based decision-making.
This Training Course on Epidemiology and Biostatistics with Stata is designed to equip participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in applying statistical methods to epidemiological research. Using Stata, a powerful statistical software widely used in health and social sciences, participants will learn how to manage data, perform complex analyses, and interpret results accurately.
The course blends theory with practical sessions, enabling learners to explore real-world datasets, conduct statistical tests, and develop meaningful insights that inform public health interventions and research.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Participation.
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course, the participant should be able to;
- Understand key epidemiological concepts and study designs
- Apply biostatistical methods to analyze public health data
- Use Stata for data cleaning, management, and analysis
- Conduct and interpret common statistical tests
- Build and analyze regression models (linear, logistic, Poisson)
- Present epidemiological data effectively using tables and graphs
- Interpret findings for decision-making and policy development
DURATION
5 days
