Training Course on Quantitative Data Management and Analysis using Stata

Quantitative data plays a central role in informing policy decisions, guiding program implementation, and supporting evidence-based research across diverse sectors. Stata is a powerful statistical software used globally by researchers, analysts, and institutions for data management, statistical analysis, and graphical visualization. Its flexibility, user-friendly syntax, and strong statistical capabilities make it ideal for managing and analyzing large datasets in fields such as economics, health, social sciences, agriculture, and development.

This practical training course equips participants with essential skills to efficiently manage and analyze quantitative data using Stata. The training combines theoretical concepts with hands-on exercises, enabling participants to clean, manipulate, analyze, and present data confidently. The course is suitable for both beginners and intermediate users seeking to strengthen their analytical capacity using real-world data.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive Certificate of Participation.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this training, the participants will be able to;

  • Understand the Stata interface and its core functionalities.
  • Create and manipulate figures and graphs using STATA
  • Perform data entry, cleaning, transformation, and management using Stata commands and menus.
  • Manage and edit large data sets
  • Generate descriptive and inferential statistics as methods of data presentation
  • Comprehend the basic functions that are utilized while using STATA
  • Evaluate the various methods of data collection and analysis
  • Interpret and present analytical results using tables and graphs.
  • Apply regression, correlation, and hypothesis testing techniques.
  • Automate and reproduce analysis using Stata do-files and log-files.
