Introduction
A productive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace depends on the ability of organizations to effectively manage employee concerns, resolve workplace conflicts, and foster a culture of fairness, trust, and accountability. Workplace grievances—ranging from interpersonal conflicts and disciplinary issues to discrimination, harassment, unsafe working conditions, and employment-related disputes—can negatively affect employee morale, productivity, organizational reputation, and legal compliance if not addressed promptly and professionally.
Modern organizations are increasingly expected to establish formal Workplace Grievance Management Systems that provide employees with accessible, confidential, impartial, and transparent channels for raising concerns and obtaining timely resolution. Effective grievance management not only minimizes disputes but also strengthens employee engagement, improves organizational culture, reduces staff turnover, enhances compliance with labor laws, and supports organizational resilience.
International frameworks including the International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 30414 Human Capital Reporting, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), IFC Performance Standard 2 (Labour and Working Conditions), the World Bank Environmental and Social Standard 2 (ESS2: Labour and Working Conditions), and national employment and labor legislation emphasize fair labor practices, employee participation, workplace dispute resolution, and effective grievance mechanisms as essential components of good governance and responsible employment.
This Training Course on Workplace Grievance Management and Conflict Resolution is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills to establish effective workplace grievance mechanisms, investigate and resolve employee complaints, manage workplace conflicts, promote constructive dialogue, and strengthen organizational accountability. Participants will learn internationally recognized approaches to conflict prevention, negotiation, mediation, complaint investigation, disciplinary procedures, and organizational learning.
The course combines international best practices, practical workplace simulations, case studies, mediation exercises, and policy development workshops to enable participants to confidently manage workplace grievances while promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Participation.
